Why should I stain and seal my new fence or other wood structure?
A fence or structure needs to be stained and sealed because
the commercial grade stain TexSeal uses, with oils and
resins, protects the pores, fibers and surface of the wood
from UV rays, eathering, splitting and warping.
The stain also will prevent the fence or other structure
from graying, which is mildew growth.
Should I get my new fence or new structure pre-stained or pre-dipped?
NO! First off, you don't know exactly where your wood was
pre-dipped or pre-stained. MOST of the companies that take
lumber companies wood to pre-stain or pre-dip it DO NOT let
the wood dry out. They immediately take the bundles of wood
off the pallets and dip them for a few seconds in a stain
that is inferior and "watered-down" to make the stain go longer.
The interior of the wood is still wet and the stain does not
penetrate to the interior of the wood. Remember, pre-stain
allows the contractor to get paid faster because they don't
have to make a second trip out to "POST- STAIN" the wood
3-4 weeks later.
What is the longest I should wait to stain and seal my wood?
No longer than 3 months. By this time, mildew has begun to
work itself into the pores of the wood and clog them. After
this time the structure shoudl be cleaned first with our low- pressure clean to soak in and clear the pores to allow the
oils and resins to enetrate into the wood to preserve for
the long term.
Why use TexSeal?
TexSeal has been in business since April 2002 and has a long
track record of customer satisfaction, referrals and repeat business. We have stained
thousands of fences and other wood structures in and around
Dallas\Ft. Worth. TexSeal also carries a $1,000,000 general
liability insurance policy for your protection.
What type of product does TexSeal use?
We use a commercial grade, semi-transparent exterior wood
stain that is oil-based. The stain is NOT a hardware store
brand stain and is not a "surface only, paint like stain."
Our stain covers evenly. The harder areas of the wood are
a little lighter and the softer areas are a little darker.
This is what makes a semi-transparent stain look natural
and beautiful.
What is TexSeal's warranty?
TexSeal has a 3-year fully transferable limited warranty on"upright" structures and 1 year warranty on "flat" surfaces
like decks. "Limited" means if a sprinkler system is hitting
the fence directly then that, of course, would not be covered.
Wear and tear, UV damage and acts of God are not covered.
